Mark opened the Australian Guitar Making School – Newcastle City workshop in July 2022, the workshop is in the heart of the city of Newcastle, close t everyone who lives, works, or studies in the city.

Mark’s love of acoustic guitars started when he was a young boy in the 60’s. Decades later in 2015 life presented the opportunity for Mark to build a guitar under the patient guidance of AGMS instructor Matt Semmens, Mark developed a passion for the process of designing and building a high quality instrument.

Mark’s background in design and construction is well suited to crafting acoustic instruments. Mark feels extremely privileged to be able to build using beautiful sustainably resourced Australian timbers.

As well as guitar building classes and 1:1 tuition, the school will also offer bench rental at set times.

Class Prices: $110 per 4hr class (1:1 tuition also available)

Bench rental: $25 per 1hr during specified times
